LaToya L. Sawyer is from Queens, NY and is a writer, educator and community activist. She has a BA in English from Hartwick College and a MA in Online Media, Magazine and Newspaper Journalism from Syracuse University¿s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Over the last 10 years she has lived in Syracuse and taught in numerous community-based and educational settings within the African American community including CFAC. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Composition and Cultural Rhetoric with an emphasis on Pan African language, rhetorics and literacies.
